Annie L. Buchanan, 76, born in Inverness, Mississippi, died Monday the 18th of March in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She retired from MeadWestVaco at the age of 63, after over 30 years of service.
She was one of nine children born of Willie B. Buchanan and Elder Robert L. Buchanan.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon M. Oglesby, her Grandson, Cody P. Dixon, three sisters, Ora “Dee” Brewer, Willie Floyd, Lottie Brown and one brother, Timothy Buchanan. Including many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Cora Ross and Linnie Buchanan, and two brothers, Linzy Buchanan and Robert Buchanan, Jr.
Annie was a strong single mother, compassionate, hardworking and a great role model to many. She enjoyed volunteering with the church to help veterans and the homeless, acting and refurbishing furniture. She stayed solid in her Christian faith throughout her lifetime.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Mathew Ball, Saturday March 23, 2019 at Bethany Church of God. Viewing begins at 10am and service begins at 12pm. Burial will be at New Crown Cemetery.
