Armanda Odessa Luster

Armanda Odessa (Latimore) Luster was born on July 21, 1931 in Perry, Georgia. She was the fourth child and the third daughter to the late Fred Douglas Sr. and Ophelia (Bell) Latimore. She married in November of 1950 and had four children: Jacquelyn Theresa, Asrie Kenneth, Debbie Ann, and Audrey Louise Luster.

Armanda worked for Hook’s drugstore in positions that included: cashier, inventory clerk, and general management. She retired after 31 years in 1994. She became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001.

Armanda enjoyed sewing, learning about every kind of wildlife, cookbooks, and watching westerns and mysteries on television. Her dream job was to be a curator at a large zoo. She was quick- witted, sarcastic, and had a great memory for time, facts, and details. It is thanks to Armanda that our family has so many personal details about our ancestors.

Armanda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Debbie A. McNeal. Armanda wanted everyone to know that her oldest granddaughter, Theresa M. White, took excellent care of her during the latter years of her life. She also leaves three sisters: Minnie Stewart, Agnes Porter, and Callie Brooks; brothers, James and Andy Kirk Latimore; grandchildren: Greg Davis, Brian K. Luster, Angel R. McNeal, Summer L. Beacher, April D. Rivers, Michael U. Rivers, and Jada M. Taylor; great- grandchildren: Gregory Anderson, Destiny McNeal- Robertson, Rodney Black, Brian Luster Jr., Kenneth Rivers and Kenrick Burnette, Noah Beacher, Robert, Michiya, Xavier Rivers, Simone and Jada Davis, and a host of great- great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Armanda is preceded in death by her three children: Jacquelyn Cullins, Asrie Kenneth Luster, and Audrey King; siblings: Ophelia Piggie, Marry Norwood, Della Hudson, Gladys Brown, Fred Douglas Latimore Jr., and half- sister, Helen Reagin.

She is loved and missed.

A visitation for Armanda will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM.
