

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James P. Dearing; her beloved daughter, Jennifer L. Dearing; her brother, Roger LaFave; and her sister, Yvonne Dougherty.
She is survived by her daughters, Lavonne Harper (Troy) and Anna Kramer (Nick); her grandchildren Shelby, TJ, Tyler, Jaymie, Jaylen, Azerieya, Adriana, Xavier, Analicia, and Elliana; and several cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Brenda O’Connor and Susan Hickman; and her brothers Traffa “Bubby” LaFave, Walter LaFave, and Mike Cunningham.
Barbara dedicated 25 years of her life to AT&T, where she worked with pride and a strong work ethic. Beyond her career, she was a woman of tremendous strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She endured deep losses in her life, yet she continued to love fiercely, care selflessly, and put her family first no matter the circumstances. To those who knew her, Barbara was a warrior with a generous heart, a sharp wit, and a spirit that never backed down.
A visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care, located at 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224, on December 4, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1401 S. Mickley Ave, Indianapolis, IN, on December 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. Barbara will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery following mass.
After the burial, her family and friends with gather at Monical’s Pizza in Avon. All in attendance are welcome to come and share memories of Barbara.
