Barbara Jean Gerrard died on February 29, 2012, one day beyond her 78th birthday. Born and raised in Indianapolis, after graduation from Howe High School in 1952, she attended IU and later IUPUI. Barbara attended her 55th high school class reunion several years ago and enjoyed reconnecting with classmates. She worked as administrative support for several different area businesses before retiring from Alcatel-Lucent 10 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret (Canary) and Leonard Gerrard, her sister, Joanne (Gerrard) Leckrone, and brother-in-law Harry "Andrews" Leckrone.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Gerrard of Colfax, Indiana; three grandsons: Eric Heim, Kevin Heim, and Sean Heim, of Fowler, Indiana; and eight great-grandchildren.
