Sickle Long

74, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after a short courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma. She was born June 3, 1936 to Thomas and Retha Copas. Both parents preceded her in death as well as her husband, Robert Long. Barb was a fun loving person – loved going to the casinos, out for lunch with her friends, and having her beloved doggie, Libby, at her side. Her greatest love was for her children, Steven (Tonya) Sickle, Julie (Jeff) Netser, Daniel (Shawn) Sickle, Robert Sickle, Laura Sickle Henderson; twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren with three on the way. She also leaves her loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dr. Gordon Jones. Services will be at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237 on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with calling two hours prior to the service. Additional calling will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Miles for Myeloma, IU Simon Cancer Center, PO Box 660245, Indianapolis, IN 46266 in memory of Barbara Long. Our very deepest thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff of the Myeloma Clinic, floor nursing staffs, and all of Barb’s many friends and neighbors who were always there in our time of need.
