Beatrice Jenkins

Beatrice was baptized at an early age, professed her faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of the Catholic Faith. She spent her elementary school years at St. Rita Catholic Church/School and graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School. She attended Nursing School in Arizona and upon returning to Indianapolis attended Marian College studying Business. Beatrice spent years working in the Business field in various capacities until retiring early to be a stay at home Mom. She was united in marriage to Clois S. Jenkins and to this union they added 5 children and years later 2 more for a total of 7. She was a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She will long be remembered for her genuineness, kindness and warm sincerity. To know her was to love her, for she was truly a Christian Women. She was preceded in death by her father Benjamin Durham, Sr., mother and stepfather Thelma and Richard Graves, daughter Antionette Gowdy and brothers Richard Durham, Jr. and Michael Durham, Sr.

March 29, 2019, at approximately 11:30am - She departed this Life in Indianapolis at the age of 89 years. We bow in humble submission to the Will of our Heavenly Father Who knows best.

She leave to cherish her loving memory: Husband Clois S. Jenkins of 64 years, Children: Karla J. Pate, Kimberly A. Jenkins, Stephen L. Jenkins Sr. (Denise), Marc E. Jenkins Sr. (Deborah), Dominic A. Jenkins (Tamika), Angela D. Jenkins; 7 Siblings: Alice Richard, Nancy Durham, Marlene Durham-Lamberg (Roy), George Frederick Durham Sr. (Margaret), Gilbert Durham Sr. (Beverly), Denice Durham, Adrienne Durham, 2 Sister-in-Laws: Florria P. Gatewood, Vernita Jenkins:, 26 Grandchildren, 46 Great-Grandchildren a host of Great-Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

A visitation for Beatrice Marie Durham-Jenkins will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home at 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Immediately following the visitation a celebration of life service will occur at 12:00 pm. Following the service, the Repass will be held at Celebration Hall at Crown Hill.
