

Indianapolis lost a treasure Saturday October 2, 2010 Bertha “Bertie” Mae Sego, 83. She was born April 7, 1927 in Indianapolis the daughter of Leo and Ethyl (Crosby) Curran. She was a long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Bertie helped her husband Bob maintain a masonry contracting business for 38 ½ years. She treasured her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed Notre Dame football, and was an avid race fan and was a champion horse shoe player. She loved to garden and being outside. Bertie’s parents were born in England and she and Bob enjoyed their time spent vacationing there and also vacationing in their home in Florida. Bertie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Robert L. Sego, children Sandra “Duane” Plumlee, Thomas “Donna”, Steven “Mary” Michael “Marcia” Robert Meme”, William “Brandy” and David “Laurie” Sego, sisters Theresa Edwards, Elizabeth Clade, Agnes Dillow, brothers James, Joe Curran, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters Mary Fish, Joan Molchan, brother Leo Curran Jr. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 6, 2010 at 9:30 at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 5, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorial contributions in Bertha’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association. Bertie had an extraordinary way of making everyone in her family feel that they were her favorite. She will be missed more than words can say.
