Beverly Ann Harris

Beverly A. Harris was born on November 12th, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mr. Bell Walker and Mary Miller (both preceded her in death.)

Beverly was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system and later furthered her education at Ivy Tech Community College.

Beverly was a faithful employee at the Indiana School for the Blind and took great pride helping those less fortunate. She assisted and cared for the students for over 10 years as a House Parent.

Beverly was a member of Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church. Under the leadership of Pastor James Payton, where she served on the Nursing Board.

She was loved by many and was always the life of the party. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and best friend. She was known to travel, be adventurous, going to the casinos and shopping.

Beverly was very passionate about her family and was devoted to them. She was truly a virtuous woman of God.

Beverly was preceded in death by her son; Woodrow Harris Jr., grandsons; Carl Ridley, Stephen Chandler and Gregory Shannon.

Beverly is survived by her son; Michael Harris, daughters; Patricia Cole, Debra Draper, Joyce L. Smith and Mary Shannon, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and a very best friend Velma Meade.

A visitation for Beverly will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. Following the visitation will be a homegoing at 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
