Beverly Mae Sutton O’Brian, 95, passed away on Monday, February 17th, 2025 in Beech Grove, Indiana. Born on December 18th, 1929 to Charles and Helen Sutton, Beverly was the oldest of three daughters. Bev grew up on the southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Tech High School in 1948 and married her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Francis O’Brian, in 1950. They were married for 64 years prior to Bill’s passing in 2014.
Beverly was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to 9 children, 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 16 great great-grandchildren. Beverly placed her family at the center of all she did and experienced the greatest joy while spending time with her immediate and extended family, including close friends. Beverly loved spending time with her sisters, Pat and Mary, and was especially happy when the sisters and their children came together to celebrate their life events.
A dedicated homemaker, Bev also loved following her children’s athletic events as their biggest fan and participating in their school events! Even with the schedules of nine children, she managed to make time to join a bowling league! A huge sports fan, Beverly was a baseball fan, settling on the Cubs as her team. A true-blue Colts fan, she enjoyed watching and cheering for the home team!
As her children grew, she joined the workforce, becoming a nurse’s aid at St. Francis Hospital until she retired. Bev also made time to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House for many years. One of Beverly’s most amazing feats was her ability to recall the birthdates of all of her grandchildren and always sent cards to recognize their special day.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Patricia Mitchell and Mary Bradley, and granddaughter Ashley O’Brian. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Charlotte (Jim) DeCamp, Rick (Lisa) O’Brian, Tim (Kathy) O’Brian, Pat (Sherry) O’Brian, Kevin (Diana) O’Brian, Julie (Jim) Lamping, Peggy (Jeff) Cunningham, Paula O’Brian, and David (Susan) O’Brian along with 30 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.
