

Beverly accepted Christ at an early age and last attended and worshipped at Gershom CME Church located in Indianapolis under Pastor Reverend Jack A. Atkins, Sr. She was a faithful servant, always willing to roll up her sleeves to work and do whatever she was asked to do.
Beverly retired as receptionist for the Indiana State Senate President Office, and also worked in the call center at the Indiana Senate. She served as a job developer/counselor for the City of Indianapolis' CETA program and taught a job search class at the Indiana School for the Deaf.
Beverly was the first beauty pageant coordinator for the Indiana Black Expo and a runway model.
Beverly enjoyed being a member of the Indianapolis Press Club and was also a original member of the "Golden Girls", a social club for friends over the age of 50. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the NBA and NFL championship games, especially with her nephews and their friends. Her passion was gardening and landscaping, her yard was always beautiful. Beverly had no biological children but treated and loved her nieces, nephews and younger cousins as her own. She helped all who needed it, you only had to ask, Beverly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Debbie Andrews, Leila Radford, brothers; Samuel Ellis, Robert L. "Sonny" Johnson and Harvey Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories sister, Vivian Newson, brother, Julius "Chico" Gordon (Joan), adopted sister, Charity Livingston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
