70, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 7, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital. Bob was born December 27, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Robert Dale Long and Barbara Christy Long Johnson. He was a pipefitter for Conrail/CSX for 39 years, retiring in 2009. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and will have military honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens prior to his burial. Bob is survived by his girlfriend; Robin Johnson, children; Robert Long, Jr., Chris Long and Angela Lockard, father; Robert Dale Long, brothers; Mike, Bill, Rick, Mark Long and Carl Johnson and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother; Barbara Christy Long Johnson, brother; Danny Long and a granddaughter; Laura Long. Visitation will be Monday, March18, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Family Funeral Care. Funeral services for Bob will be Tuesday, March 19, 11:00 am in the funeral home.
