Brian Thomas Grimes

Brian was born December 27, 1973 in Indianapolis to Joyce (Yates) and Steven Grimes. He attended Franklin Central High School, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and was a registered Professional Engineer. His career began at Jacobs Engineering where he worked for 18 years in many rolls, the latest of which was Mechanical-Electrical Division Manager. In 2019 Brian furthered his professional career by accepting a position at Ross and Baruzzini, where he was later appointed as the Office Director of their Indianapolis branch in April of 2020.

Brian became a father in March, 2001 with the birth of his daughter Riley Grimes and again when his son, Jonathan Grimes, was born in January, 2004. Brian was a devoted father that loved his children beyond measure. Riley and Jonathan were the pride and joy of Brian’s life. The legacy of his passion and zest for life will live on through them.

Brian was the husband of Elizabeth (Liz) Grimes. Brian and Liz, who had known each other since childhood, found their way back to each other in 2009 and were wed June 28, 2013. They shared 9 wonderful years of marriage full of laughter and adventure.

In addition to spending time with his loved ones, Brian enjoyed travel, sports, music, singing, movies, and theater. His favorite films, movies and plays were historical dramas set during the American Revolution. He was fun, charismatic and a self-described (somewhat tongue in cheek) “Phenomenal Dancer”. His handyman skills were legendary and he was the go-to guy in the family when you needed help installing or repairing something. He always appreciated a good pizza and a good steak. Brian was beloved by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his incredible smile, infectious laugh, wit and brilliant sense of humor. But mostly Brian will be remembered as a beautiful human being who knew how to love and who gave more of himself than he ever expected from others in return.

Brian is survived by his wife Liz Grimes; his children Riley Grimes, Jonathan Grimes; his mother Joyce Grimes; his brothers Steven (Jill) Grimes, Sean (Holly) Grimes; his nieces and nephews Madison (Bryant) Grider, Steven (Adriana) Grimes, Victoria Grimes, Jackson Grimes, Rachel (Brad) Smith as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Steven Grimes.

Visitation for Brian will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Little & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, Indiana.
