Bruce C. Blakemore

Bruce grew up in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1956. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958 serving until his retirement in 1988 as a MSgt.

Bruce married Theckla Lee Baker in 1960 and of that union they had three children Bruce Blakemore Jr (Amy), Jay Blakemore (Cassandra) and Susan (Darryl) Rayford. They were later Divorced and Bruce remarried Kompoon Blakemore in 1973 and of that union they had one daughter, Ruth (Jimmy) Vaughan. Bruce was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and organized and led the New Bethel Missionary B.C. youth drill team. After retirement, Bruce was also a Substitute teacher and Instructional Assistant with exceptional students in Pike MSD. Bruce enjoyed Bowling and spending time with his family.

Bruce Blakemore is survived by his sons/daughters; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Blakemore, Rachel Blakemore, Terah Blakemore, Tatianna Keener, Caryn Keener, Darryl Rayford Jr., Austin Vaughan, Joshua Vaughan, his great-grandchildren Janiah Murry, Tydrianna Murry, Elijah White and Israel White and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Bruce peacefully departed this life at the age of seventy-seven years at Angels Personal Care Home on December 7, 2015, and was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Theckla, wife Kompoon and siblings Henry Blakemore Jr. and Velma Blakemore.
