I just learned of Charlene’s death.  My deepest condolences to Dennis and the children.  I have so many great memories of our time at the First Baptist Church in Canton. We shared a lot of good and some hurt together.

Dennis and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Charlene's death.  It does not seem all that long ago that you moved in across the street. Shortly after you moved in were got a load of paving bricks removed from a street project and Chari and my three oldest kids were cleaning the 100 years of grit off them.  I gave my younger daughter (at that time) a swat on the butt and my grimy hand left a print (that looked like a bruise but let me assure you it was not). I am not sure how long it took for Charlene to accept that I was not a child abuser.  We have a picture of our four kids together cleaning the bricks that day. I remember all those good times in the neighborhood and at First Baptist Church.  Days gone but not forgotten

I am so sorry to hear of Charlene's passing. I knew her through MacArthur Elementary and absolutely loved her smile and caring nature, how she never meeting a stranger, and her ever present  positive nature with a mischievous wink. Sending you all peace and wonderful memories to warm your hearts as you celebrate her life.

Charlene, "Bambi" to us, was a classmate at SCC.  What a joy she was to have as a friend.  She was a true Southern Belle and loved by everyone.  I miss phone visits with her.  We lost connection about 5+ years ago.  
My prayers are with all of your family as you walk this journey without her.  May God bring peace and comfort to you in your hard days and may you find joy in precious memories you hold forever in your hearts.

We, as a family, are so saddened to hear of the passing of Charlene. She was an incredible teacher and personified everything a teacher should be.. loving, patient, nurturing and willing to do whatever it took to help a child grow and succeed.
We became friends from her mentoring and encouragement to our son, having difficulties with Dyslexia …at a time it wasn’t really addressed by teachers! What a difference she made.. touching our hearts forever!
Our deepest sympathy to Denny, Chari, Vince and the grandchildren she must have cherished. The world will miss her sweet smile.. but it is a better place because of her!

Our hearts are broken! Our sweet “Waggie” as we affectionately called her was a true, beautiful Christian woman, had the heart of an angel and the power of a lion, she would come flying out of the corner like the mama bear she was if anyone dare tried to harm any of her “babies” and that was ALL of us who she loved so much!  We’ve lost a beautiful soul of an angel and this earth will feel the hole without her grace and dignity!  RIP my sweet, beautiful Waggie……we’ll love you forever! I know you’re dancing on the streets of heaven now, you surely have the most beautiful crown to wear and you SO deserve it!
