Charles D. Coonce Jr., age 89, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday August 9, 2019. Charles was born October 1, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Emma E. (Rike) Coonce and Charles D. Coonce. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marian M. (Agee) Coonce. He was a US Navy veteran having served in WWII and Korea. He was also a member of the White River Yacht Club, Antelope Club, Masonic Lodge (Scottish Rite) at Marrott, and the Optimist Club where he made lifelong friendships over the years. Charles was an electrical contractor and owned Coonce Electric, which was founded by his father in 1939. He was a member of the North Central Indiana chapter of NECA and published "Code Comments by Coonce" in the revered monthly newsletter of the Indianapolis Electric Contractors Association. He was known for his concern for others and his commitment to the people and things he cared about. Charles is survived by his son, Charles D. "Chuck" Coonce III (Liz); sisters, Dora Lee Eubauk and Carole Campbell; grandchildren, Melissa Neal (Andrew), Christine Guimont (Tim), and Charles D. Coonce IV; and 7 great grandchildren, Matthew, Bennett, Lauren, Lucy, Harrison, Henry, and Hannah. Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. His Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. A reception will follow at noon.
