Charles Joseph Pluchar, age 92, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Charles was born January 15, 1931 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Josephine (Wilczynski) and Charles Frank Pluchar. Chuck was also preceded in death by his brother, Mel Pluchar and sister, Mildred Kostanski. He was a US Army Veteran. During his career as an actuary that began with his military service he worked at multiple insurance companies and was prominent in the field. He along with his wife and family were longtime members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Chuck graduated from DePaul University. He was a sports fan and cheered on Purdue and coached baseball and basketball for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). In his retirement he enjoyed vacationing with his wife in South Padre Island, Texas during the winter months. While home he treasured time with his grandchildren playing Alligator Man.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Pluchar; children, Rosanne Eichholtz (Steve), Tom Pluchar (Jean), Michael Pluchar (Phoebe), and Therese Langsenkamp (Al); 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Chuck will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM.
Chuck will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana at a later date.
