Mrs. Barnes had been a Teachers Aid/Tutor for the Indianapolis Public School System and was also a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and one son.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory, children: David A. Barnes, II (Grace), Maurice A. Barnes, Sr. (Connie), Richard A. Barnes, Sr., Vernon A. Barnes (Quay) and Deborah Barnes-Conn (Thomas); 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 23, 2015, 4pm - 8pm and again on Friday, April 24, 2015, 9am - 11am, with the Homegoing Celebration commencing at 11am. All services will be at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1825 E. 25th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46218. The burial will immediately follow the service on Friday at Floral Park Cemetery.
