

Charlotte Agnes Young was born March 13,1934 in Indianapolis In to Charles and Juanita Williams. Charlotte attended Bridgeport Elementary School and was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She later attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was united in marriage with Floyd Lewis Young (deceased) and to this union they had nine children, 5 girls and four boys.
Charlotte professed her a hope in Christ at a very young age, was baptized and became a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport in Indianapolis In.
She worked as a LPN in hospitals as well as a private duty nurse working in homes. Charlotte also was a retail associate for L.S. Ayers and Company working in the jewelry, purse and accessories department for over ten years.
Charlotte loved her church and loved the Lord in her own quiet way. She was a member of several ministries, faithfully until death. Even though Charlotte couldn't sing or carry a tune she loved singing the old gospel hymns. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."
Charlotte had several hobbies and past-times such as traveling, crossword and wordsearch puzzles. She also loved reading the morning paper but her favorite hobby was sewing which she excelled in, she was always sewing. At one time in her life she co-owned a sewing shop called Fashions Your Way, working there with 2 of her sister-in-laws. She was always being asked be friends and family to sew outfits and alter clothes.
Charlotte loved her family and was always there unconditionally with motherly love. Everyone loved Momma, Granny, Me-Maw, Mother Young, Charlotte Agnes.
She leaves to cherish her memory and love to three sons; Darryl E. Young, Clifton Young and Bradford Young, four daughters; Darlene Thompson, Marsha Chandler, Emily K. Johnson and Melanie L. Logan. All of her siblings preceded her in death, she was the last of the Williams/Smith legacy. Two children also precede her in death: Donna L. Smith and Daniel Young and a great grand-daughter Janel L Quarles. Charlotte had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory to several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Charlotte departed this life on October 9,2020 at the blessed age of 86.
