

Mr. Clarence Burns was born on January 31, 1943, in Canton, Mississippi to John Wesly Burns, Sr. and Nellie Griffin one of seven children.
Clarence received his education in Canton Public School System and continued his education at Ivy Teach Community College in Indianapolis.
Clarences involvement in the Industrial Trade Group in high school followed on with his employment, with Citizens Gas and Coke for forty years as one of the companies few black Forman. He also gained training and worked as a barber for many years, providing the first haircut to many of the next generation of his family.
Clarence Burns went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2024, at the age of eighty years old, and twenty-seven days. He is preceded in death by his father, John Wesly Burns, Sr.; mother, Nellie Burns; brothers, Jay “J. C.” Burns, Mose Burns, Joe Paul Burns and John W Burns, Jr.; two sons Brian E. Burns, and Jason Lane.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Chandra Burns; brothers, MacArthur Burns, and Franklin D. Burns; grandchildren Brian Rowe, Alexandra Burns, Zackery Burns, Jason Lane Jr., and Jayda Lane, Kamonyae Lane, Jamya Lane and one great grandchild Brian Burns III and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clarence was a loving and devoted father, uncle, cousin, and friend he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Humbly Submitted...................................The Family
A visitation for Clarence will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
