Clarence Owens made his confession and faith in Jesus Christ. He was always known as a very fierce, hard worker and began his first job at the age of fourteen with National T Groceries. At the same time he worked as a paper boy for the Chicago Suntime's and Tribune newspaper. He would stay in the grocery business his whole life working for other companies like Cub Foods, Jewel and Marsh until his retirement as a Produce Manager.
Many do not know that Clarence Owens received a full scholarship from the Art Institute of Chicago, but
declined the offer for his own personal reasons. He loved sports and music amassing a broad collection of music on vinyl and CD's. Clarence loved his brothers and sisters and really did his best to be there for them.
Clarence Noel Owens left this life on Friday, December 8, 2017 leaving behind three daughters: Tanya Owens, Tanya Ternoir and Patricia Ternoir. Two sons: Clarence Ternoir and Keith Ternoir. He also leaves behind a small army of grandchildren.
Three of his siblings preceded him in death: Pryor Noel Owens, Golden "Bubbles" Payne and Sally Ann Payne. His surviving siblings are: Willie B. "Big Man" Payne and Shirley Ann Payne. Clarence Owens was a marrying type and one of the loves of his life and friend to the end, Dorothy Jean Owens, saw to his care until his passing. Our family is very grateful and thank Dorothy for being there for Clarence and his family during those difficult times.
