

Claude “Clay” Fattore passed away on August 1st, 2025. He was born in the Bronx on January 15th, 1931 to John and Consolina (Vittorini) Fattore. His parents relocated back to Italy a year later, then returned to Gary, Indiana in 1936 where he spent his childhood. He graduated from Indiana University in 1953 with a degree in business administration. Immediately after college he was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War. In 1955 after being discharged from the Army he returned to Indiana where he was hired by RCA.
Back in Indianapolis he met the love of his life, Jacquelyn Weliever. They married in 1958, had two children, Julie and John, and spent 63 wonderful years together before her passing in 2021. During his 20 year career at RCA he worked in a number of industrial relations positions and transferred with his family to multiple places in the US and even Santiago, Chile. After leaving RCA he and his family moved to Pittsburg, PA for 10 years then to South Bend Indiana for 4 years. In 1989 Clay and Jackie moved back to Indianapolis where and in 1990 he took a job as Deputy Commissioner of Administration for the Indiana Department of Corrections until he retired in 2000. He was a lifelong golfer and was a member of the Old Oakland Golf Club for many years.
Clay was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant everything to him. He is survived by his daughter Julie Fattore Crites and three grandchildren Kyle Crites and Kourtney (Steven) Crites, and Caitlin Conn. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Fattore, his son, John “JB” Fattore, and his two brothers Leonard Fattore and Ezio Fattore.
A visitation for Claude will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 East 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
