Dee was born on August 26, 1948 in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Paul R. Bemis and Dorothy M (Hall) Bemis Puett.
Dee shared 23 years of marriage with her husband, Steven R. Dickey, whom she married on July 30, 2000. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2024.
She is survived by sisters, Beverly Bemis Stone and Pattisue 'Patti' Bemis Thomas; her late husband's family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many precious lifelong friends.
She was employed by IU Methodist, for many years, as well at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.
Outside of work, her greatest passion was the welfare of animals. An avid animal lover, she spent time volunteering for the Humane Society and provided a loving home to many cats and dogs throughout her life.

Services for Dee are being planned for a later date.
