

Ms. Delores “DeDe” Arleen Mundy, daughter of the late John W. Mundy Sr. and Lucy M. Fishback Mundy, was born on September 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the eldest of eight children born to this union. She attended Indianapolis Public School #87 and #41 before going to Arsenal Technical High School.
Delores professed faith in Christ at a young age and was baptized at Eastern Star, she changed her membership to Christ Missionary Baptist Church as a young child. Later in life, she moved her membership to Olivet Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Wayne Moore, where she was a member of the Usher Board. She also found herself attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church when she unable to get transportation to her home church.
Delores never married but was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her two children, Anthony W. Mundy and Tracey R. Mundy-Davidson and her four grandchildren. She truly loved them all and it showed by the many wonderful memories made.
Delores retired from the Department of Defense where she was a financial clerk for over 30 years. Prior to that she worked for the Postal Service. After retirement she was an advent walker and was a part of the Municipal Gardens Sassy Seniors line dancers until her health started to fail her.
Delores A. “Dee” Mundy departed from this earthly life on April 26, 2025, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 16 days. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Mundy, grandmother, Lucy Edwards, 3 brothers, John Jr., Robert “Tony” and William “Billy” Mundy, sister Debra Mundy, grandson Meredith Mundy and only son Anthony W. Mundy.
Delores A. Mundy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tracey (Randy) Mundy-Davidson, 3 grandsons Jason D. Hatcher, Mychal (Jaimee) A. and Terrence D. Sisson, 4 great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Terrence Jr., Jai and Mya plus 3 bonus granddaughters and 4 bonus great-grandchildren., sister, Jackie (Herchel) Jones, 2 brothers, Curtis (Kamona) and Christopher (Leslie) Mundy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Delores will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Loving Missionary Baptist Church, 802 W. Roache Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 PM.
