Donald F. Shepherd

Don was born in Boswell Indiana, to John and Bernice Shepherd on February 24, 1938.

He graduated from a small school in Benton County called Wadena class of 1956, along with his twin brother Dean.

He married Gloria Sue Henderson on February 22, 1959, in Fowler at the Presbyterian Church. She is the daughter of Willis and Helen Henderson.

He had an associate degree in telephony, he started work with United Telephone in Rensselaer Indiana, with all the buyouts and changes through the years he retired from sprint after 32 years of service, missing only one day of work for being sick.

He was a veteran in the Army serving from 1956 to 1958 mostly in Okinawa.

Don was preceded in death by both his parents, his son, Tommy, 6 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by two sons, Mark and Kevin, his loving wife Gloria and 2 grandchildren Ethan and Sonia, also many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held at Franklin American Legion, Post 205 at 1200 Park Ave Franklin Indiana 46131 and will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 2p-4pm.

Burial will be at a later date, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis with Arrangements made by Little and Sons Funeral Home 4901 E stop 11 Road Indpls IN 46237.

Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to Riley Children’s Foundation at 500 N Meridian St, Suite 100 Indianapolis IN 46204 or Franklin Victory Christian Church at 1720 Graham Road Franklin Indiana
