Doris Stewart Miller

Doris graduated from Crispus Attucks High School, where she participated in the Marching Band and Attucks Sisters. She earned her college degree from Ball State University School of Nursing. As a nurse, she worked tirelessly for many years providing the skills of her profession and comfort to those suffering

both physically and emotionally, which fulfilled her desire to be of service to those in need.

Doris was joined in Holy Matrimony to Donald Melvin Stewart and Leroy Leo Miller; both preceded her in death. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Raymond Hiser, and as a member, she joined the choir and Mother's Board.

Mrs. Doris Bledsoe Stewart Miller departed from this life at the age of eighty-four years and seven days. She was preceded in death by her sons Kenny Charles Stewart and Wayne Henry Stewart.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Donna Marie Brockman, Roxann Miller and Jeri Lynn Hedrick; sons Michael Carl Stewart, Morris Keith and Anthony Lee Miller. Grandchildren Jennifer Lynn, Vanessa and Bryan Macklin; David Terrell Chaney and Latia Miller; Angela Marie and Antonio Lee

Hedrick, Jr. and Donavan Fentle Phillips; Nina Marie Taylor and Rene Green; Denitra Stewart, and Monique Miller; thirty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; stepbrother, Charles Edward Howard, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her visitation is Saturday, May 16, 2015, 10am - 12pm, with the Homegoing Celebration at 12pm in New Haven MBC. The burial will immediately follow in Washington Park North Cemetery.
