Dorothy D. (Terrell) Brown was born on August 4, 1946 the daughter of late Beatrice Moore and Roosevelt Walton in Dallas, Texas. She married the late John D. Terrell, Sr. on April 2, 1964; to this union three children were born, Shurhonda V. Terrell, John D. Terrell, Jr. and Angela D. (Terrell) Hines. She later moved to Kokomo, Indiana and married the late Lazell Brown.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, a Girl Scout leader and the Widow to Widow ministry. She was an avid bowler and loved cooking and sharing in intimate conversations with her family.

Her 2 brothers, Franklin and Moore preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey L. Arnett of Kokomo, Alan J. Arnett (Trenna) of Kokomo, John D. Terrell, Jr. of Westfield, Indiana, daughters, Shurhonda V. Terrell of Indianapolis, Indiana, LaShala J. Brown (Derrick) of Dallas, Texas, Leigh A. Brown (Bruce Simoneaux) of Dallas, Texas, Angela D. Hines (William) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brothers, Ernest Moore (Wanda), Marvin Moore (Alice) both of Dallas, Texas, sisters, Shirley Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas, Patricia Dykes and Betty Moore both of Dallas, Texas, step son, Adrian D. Smith of Dallas, Texas, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services will be on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, 11 A.M. at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Robert A. Lee will be the officiant & eulogist. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 A.M.; and on Saturday, July 20, 2013, 11 A.M. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Pastor Leonard R. Davis will be the officiant and eulogist.
