Having lived in Indianapolis since 1971, he considered himself a life- long Hoosier and took great delight in its natural beauty. He marveled at the change of seasons, documenting the first snows and admiring his beloved hosta plants in spring. He was a board certified Anesthesiologist and took great pride in his service to his patients, his residents, and his numerous colleagues at Wishard Memorial Hospital. He spent his professional career dedicated to teaching his residents proper techniques in service of patients yet to come. He also spent his personal sampling the culinary delights of his colleagues through out the hospital; having been known to seek out a recipe for rum cake or pork loin that caught his fancy. After his retirement he volunteered his time to Indy Reads. He devoted his leisure time to discovering the latest eats in Indianapolis, In his retirement he dedicated himself to shooting less than 88 on his arch nemesis, the local golf courses. His friends and family will gather to share stories, marvel at his ability to photograph every event, and laugh at his salty jokes.
