Dr. Kenneth Frank Simmons

Kenneth F. Simmons, D. C. of Indianapolis, passed away, at his home on May 22, 2014 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Wichita, KS. to the late Henry (Hank) Simmons and Opal Simmons, on April 9, 1947. He graduated from High School at Wichita West High in 1965. He attended Logan Chiropractic College and graduated in September 1975 with Certificate of Merit in recognition for outstanding service to the Clinic of Logan College of Chiropractic. He had an office in Wichita, KS for a short time.

He moved to Pendleton, Indiana in 1981 and joined Smith’s Chiropractic Office. He opened his own offices in 1982 and had offices in’, Lapel, Fortville and Linton, Indiana. He saw his patients up until two months before his death. He loved all of his patients and gave them the best care possible. He also drove a route for Ito & Koby Dental Lab until April, 2014.

He met Sharen (Whelchel) Simmons and they were married May 14th 1983. They renewed their wedding vows of 20 years of marriage in 2003.

He has four living children, Steve Simmons, Shelbyville, KY, Marsha Dull, Terre Haute, IN., Michael Falkenberry, Cicero IN and Cristy Pettigrew, Anderson, IN . Six grandchildren, Morgan, Thomas, Abby, Kaitlin, Kristin, and Riley. One great-grandaughter Natalie. Several Aunts and Uncles and cousins and one Step-Sister, Joanie Allen in CO.

He was a member of the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency Board of Chiropractic Examiners. AARP, Raceway Ministries, Treasurer for Love on a Leash.

He loved fishing, boating, going to Florida, Star Wars. He was an avid sports fan for Nascar, Basketball, rooting for Kansas Jay Hawks, IU, Butler, the Pacers and any college football game. He loved to travel and spending time with his two therapy dogs Holly-Pup and Max and, attending all Love on a Leash events.

He had a smile for everyone he met, even during his battle with cancer.
