Edward Parker Archer

Ed was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Joseph and Mary Archer on July 14th, 1936. In 1955 he met the love of his life, Judith Seibert, and they were together from that day forward, having celebrated 66 happy years of marriage. Ed was a warm and loving father to their children: David (Jill), Stephen (Teri) and Heather (Andy); and grandchildren Jeremy, Max, Corinne, Leo, Ben and Jason.

Ed graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Georgetown University School of Law. He was a law professor at IU Law School in Indianapolis and a well-regarded labor arbitrator. He was a fair and kindhearted man who would often give to those in need. For over 10 years he hosted youth gatherings to build houses for Habitat for Humanity, and he dearly loved tutoring children in algebra.

In his adult years he practiced his artistic and woodworking skills, creating beautiful artisan furniture, carvings, bowls and candlesticks for family and friends.

A Memorial Service for Edward will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis, 615 W. 43rd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
