

Elizabeth Peck Carcare, age 86, of Fishers, previously of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Liz was born in Yugoslavia on September 28, 1936 to the late Franz and Maria (Strakos) Peck. In 1952, when she was 14, a relative invited her family to move to the United States. They first lived in Newburgh, New York where she went to Mount St. Mary School. She later moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut where she met her husband, a second generation Italian-American, Lawrence J. Carcare, who predeceased her. Her family includes Lawrence J. Carcare II, his wife Margaret Carcare, and their sons Isaac Carcare and Seth Carcare, along with Cynthia Clayton, her husband Daniel Clayton, and their sons Kevin Clayton, his wife Katie Clayton, and Ryan Clayton, his wife Lindsay Clayton. She has six great-grandchildren, Abigayle Clayton, Nathaniel Clayton, Hannah Clayton, Andrew Clayton, Wyatt Clayton, and Londyn Clayton. She is also survived by her sister, Anna (Peck) Drmic and her husband, Frank Drmic who have many children and grandchildren.
Liz became an American citizen on December 13, 1977, and as a hard working immigrant she owned several businesses, the crowning glory of which was Personnel Recruiters and Consultants. She enjoyed matching employers and employees, often working late into the evening. Liz and Larry retired in 2000 and they enjoyed their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Liz was famous for gifting her Eastern European cookies, especially her nutella wafer cookies.
A visitation for Liz will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 2:30 PM.
