Elsie "Betty" E. Dubrosky

Elsie E. “Betty” Dubrosky 88 of Indianapolis passed away Christmas day, December 25th, 2022. She was born on December 22, 1934, at home in Greenville, IL as the daughter of Forrest & Elizabeth Wedekind.

Betty was born and raised in Greenville, IL on a farm where she helped her father with chores, the livestock and plowing the fields. Prior to graduating from high school, she met the love of her life and “city boy” Don at a movie theater in a nearby town. After graduation, Betty worked in town at the Highland, IL hospital as a phlebotomist & transporter in radiology.

Betty & Don were married in October 1953. Soon after, they traveled to Indianapolis for a job opportunity in a family-owned grocery store and to raise a family of 5 children. She attended & graduated from beauty college and continued working as a hairdresser for 43 years. She enjoyed music, playing cards, bowling, attending sporting events for her children & grandchildren, road trips back home, ice cream trips in the Model A with Don, family holiday get togethers, avid hunter & eater of morels and spending hours picking out that perfect birthday card! She always had an open door, and the coffee was always on. Most of all she loved spending time with her family & friends.

Betty was an incredibly strong woman who always had your back. She was a great wife, mom, granny, great granny & friend. She had a sassy sense of humor and will always be remembered as the “cool granny”. She will be loved & missed by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her children: Diana (Matt) Berry, Jay (Jackie) Dubrosky, Jodi Dubrosky; grandchildren Kelly (Josh), Tim, Brian, Jake, Nichole (Anthony), April (Todd); great grandchildren: Rylee, Harper, Hudson, Necho, Skylar, Teylor, Blake, Ahvay and Ryder; Sister Mary Iberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Dubrosky of nearly 67 years and sons Tony and Forrest “Forry” Dubrosky. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to the American Cancer

A celebration of life for Betty will be held Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
