Ernie graduated from Decatur High School and went on to work at Kroger for 45 years. Ernie loved trains, rebuilding vintage telephones and the ladies.
Ernie’s last act of kindness was donating his corneas and allowing two blind people the ability of sight.
The family is thankful to Ernie’s granddaughter, Madison for being his medical caretaker and ensuring his comfort in his final days.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Diana Jo Wright.
Ernie is survived by his children, Shasta Richardson and Matt Richardson and 3 children from previous marriage; sisters, Susie Eskew and Jo Ann Holland; grandchildren, Ciara Wright, Madison Richardson, Jaidan and Campbell Richardson; great grandchildren, Lydia, Syre and Adler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Ernie will be held at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219 on Friday, May 30th from 4pm to 6 pm with a memorial service to follow at 6pm.
