Ernestine Viola Williams

Ms. Ernestine Viola Williams was born on December 17, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to her proud parents; (Mother) Thenis Bush-Williams-Kirkland and (Father) Roger Williams Sr. Ernestine attended IPS school #37 and was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. She worked as a Housekeeper with Holiday Inn, and was a member of Pathway Missionary Baptist Church for over 25 years. Ms. Ernestine will be remembered for her infectious smile and heart of compassion for everyone she met. She was kind to everyone, friend or foe, and never spoke unkind of anyone. Her greatest pleasure and joy was being around her sister's grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ernestine will be well-missed by her family. Ms. Ernestine is preceded in death by: (Mother) Thenis Bush-Williams-Kirkland, (Father) Roger Williams Sr., (Sister) Eloise McFarland, (Brother) Roger Williams Jr., and (Daughter) Marlene Williams. She is survived by: (Son) Nathaniel Williams (Dana), (Grandchildren) Mariah Williams and Nathaniel Williams Jr., (Sister/Caregiver) Dorleen Tramill (Roosevelt), (Sister) Ruth Ann Hurley, (Brother) Warren Williams, (Sister) Louise Williams, (Brother) Sam Kirkland (Doris), (Sister) Sara Jones (David), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Pathway Missionary Baptist Church family. A visitation for Ernestine will be held Monday, August 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pathway Missionary Baptist Church, 3017 Shriver Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
