Born in Tishomingo, Mississippi, she moved to Washington, DC, during Word War II where she worked at the Pentagon and met her husband, Paul. They were married in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised their family there. For many years she sang in the choir at Bethel Lutheran Church in Cleveland, with her husband, Paul, directing. She held several jobs over the years, finally retiring from her position as a nursing assistant at the VA Hospital in Brecksville, OH. She and Paul retired to Riverview, Florida, in 1989, where she remained until May of 2014 when she moved to Greenwood, Indiana to be closer to her daughter Nancy. She had a passion for sewing and made many special gifts for her family. She also had a passion for strawberries and would enjoy them at every opportunity!
