

Fern Frances Fedler was born in Louisville, KY, on April 30, 1939, to Fern Frances Albert Fedler and Hubert Edward Fedler. She was the youngest of four siblings and spent her formative years in Kentucky. She attended college in Indianapolis at Marian University, earning her teaching degree. She worked as a middle school math teacher for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, spending most of her teaching years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. She was a long-time parishioner of St.Therese Little Flower and owned a home in the same neighborhood. She quietly made a difference in the lives of her students, family and friends. She was always quick to offer her help and looked after those she cared for attentively. She gave the best advice and had a great sense of humor. She loved nothing better than spending time with those she loved playing cards and games, and taking road trips to visit friends and family. She departed this world peacefully in Indianapolis on May 2, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Marian Bruenderman, her brother Hubert Fedler, and dear friends Sr. Catherine Raters OSF, Sr. Dolores Meyer OSF, and Cecelia "Mom" Raters. She is survived by her brother Rhea Fedler of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Indianapolis family including Cecilia Raters Strigari (Anthony), Mike Raters (Margie), Mary Strigari Vish (Jeff), Monica Strigari, and all their children and grandchildren.
