

FRANCES T. SANDERS-WASHINGTON was born June 6, 1927 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Bernard and Ida Sanders. She was the fourth of five children. Her two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Frances passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Kindred Health Care Center.
She committed herself to Christ. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board, Deaconess Board, Progressive Club, and
gleeters choir. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 19:1-4.
FRANCES was employed as a domestic worker for most of her life. She met and married Marcus Washington who preceded her in death. Her favorite pastime was traveling, sometimes with her sister Hattie. She also loved playing card games with family and friends. At Christmas her favorite pastime was baking. She would bake as many as thirty rum cakes. Those that had the pleasure of tasting her cakes received a real treat.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Renaud Johnson (Rhonda) and Keith Johnson (Vickie); one step-son, Thomas Washingon (Katrina); a special son,
Marcus White; 12 grandchildren; a host of greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Mrs. Washington's visitation is Friday, October 31, 2014, 10am to 12pm, with the Homegoing Celebration at 12pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The burial will immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
