Gerald "Gerry" Strong

Gerald “Gerry” Howser Strong, 75, passed away, Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born June 21, 1942 in Lafayette, Tennessee to the late Ralph and Hassie (Perigo) Strong. He was retired from the Beech Grove Fire Department and a member of Local 416 Fire Fighters Union. He was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Beech Grove JC’s. As an Entrepreneur, he and his wife operated Front Row Seating, providing team chairs and scoring tables as they traveled the south east. He always kept his golf clubs handy as he enjoyed golf as well as Ritter’s Ice Cream.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Karnes) Strong; children, Kimberly Sharp (Steven), Brenda Strong, and Rob Strong; brother, Harold Strong; grandchildren, Brittany Chatham, Tony Bell (Brooke), Nick Bell (Kourtney), Brianne Chatham, Micheala Johnson-Strong, and Taylor Strong; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 21 from 4 – 8 pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1401 E Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be Friday, December 22 at 11 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, Team G-Strong, online or at the funeral home, for the 2018 walk.
