age 82, was born the youngest of six children on a farm in Jamestown, North Dakota. Gladys or "Babe" as she was referred to by her siblings, possessed many talents and even hosted her own radio show, "Sing-a-long with Gladys Lee", at just 19 years of age. Gladys was the Jamestown Dairy Princess, and her high school prom queen before taking a job at the local bank. She met her future husband, Tom, when he came into the bank to cash war bonds to purchase a car. Tom and Gladys were married in 1950 and raised 6 children, eventually moving to Indianapolis in 1966.
She was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic parish and enjoyed singing in three Indianapolis church choirs. She was a certified decorative artist (CDA) and had one of her ornaments selected to hang on the White House Christmas tree in 2004. She took pride in everything she did and was a pillar of strength and inspiration to friends and family and will be missed by all. We love you forever Mom -- may you rest in peace with The Lord.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Caulfield, son Michael Caulfield (Maureen) and daughters Susan Caulfield, Sandy Caulfield, Noreen Kavanaugh (Tim), Mary Larson (Dan), Kathleen Beach, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be at St. Pius X church on Friday, September 20th, from 9:30 – 11:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor at 2345 West 86th St. Indianapolis where Gladys was a volunteer worker for many years. Services are entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Condolences may be offered at www.feeneyhornakkeystone.com.
