Harold W. Scherschel

64, of Indianapolis, departed this life January 1, 2011. He was born March 24, 1946 in Bedford, IN to Edward and Pauline (Crabb) Scherschel. Harold worked as a telecommunications engineer for over 40 years, retiring in 2008 from Avaya Communications. He was a longtime and dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Chapel, where he had served as treasurer for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward and brother, Carl Scherschel. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Judy (Baker) Scherschel; daughters, Kathi (Doug) Keen, Tami (Bill) Crawford and Teri (J.R.) Williams; mother, Pauline Scherschel; sister, Ann Scherschel; brothers, Ben (Rose), Bernie, and Gary (Sheila) Scherschel; sister-in-law, Carol Scherschel and nine loving grandchildren.

Requiem Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Chapel (245 West Broadway Street in Greenwood) on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 4th in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary (71st and Keystone) and again from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Wednesday in the mortuary prior to Mass. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
