

Henry Holmes was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Moro, Arkansas. where he confessed a hope in our Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He was baptized under the dynamic leadership of the late Rev. Spencer Brown.
Henry Holmes attended Lee Senior High School in Marianna, Arkansas and he later received his GED.
Henry was a driven man and decided to move to Peoria, Illinois in the summer of 1972. He was blessed to find a job and was a dedicated employee for the Keystone Caterpillar Company for 28 years.
He married Shirley J. Gulley on February 5, 1990, and to this union one son was born plus two bonus sons. Henry Holmes was the father of 6 children.
Henry Holmes moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 200l where he was employed at V -Line, Von Duprin/Allegion, American Security, First Student until death. After moving to Indianapolis, IN he met his longtime companion Roselyn Campbell of 17 years.
Henry Holmes was a member of the Central Lodge #1 Masonic Hall for 17 years.
He became a member of Greater Total Praise Church of Indianapolis, Indiana under the leadership of Pastor James Harlan.
Henry Holmes enjoyed watching Westerns and sports. He had a big sense of humor. He was a hardworking man who loved family & friends. He also enjoyed cooking. He was known as a Mama's boy.
Henry Holmes was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Holmes Sr. and Theola Holmes, 1 son: Leslie Broomfield, 2 sisters: Gloria Dean Coleman, Jimmie Ella Johnson, 1 brother-in-law James Harlan, 2 nephews: Christopher Harlan, Eric Anderson Jr.

Holmes, Barbara C Anderson, Mattie H. Holmes, Edna R. Holmes-Wilson (Fred Wilson) All out of Little Rock, AR. A very special granddaughter lyona Anderson Indianapolis, IN. Henry Holmes had 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and I uncle. His best friend Willie Boone Wilson and lifelong close friends, Curtis Bingion and Marvin Dotson
A visitation for Hank will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Freewill Baptist Church, 2433 Barnes Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
