Henry Lee Terrell

Henry Lee Terrell, son of the late Harold Terrell and Jessie Mae Buckner (Hudson), was born on February 12, 1948, in Canton, Mississippi. Henry was called to his eternal rest on March 7, 2025. At the time of his passing, Henry had devoted 77 years to the gift of life.

Henry also known as “Sugg” attended and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. He played basketball, had a love for cars, enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and bowling, hanging out with his friends, chatting it up at Leon’s barbershop, and taking care of his family.

Henry accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and was a member of Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor James A. Green, where he remained a member until death. He worked and retired after 33 years of service from Allison Engine Company. He was truly larger than life, tall even when he was laying down, and a true “Mufasa” to his family. He helped all that he could whether you were a friend, or a family member and he was always willing to give you some words of wisdom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Terrell.

He leaves to morn his memory his beloved wife, Margaret Terrell of 53 years; Daughters: Angie Terrell, Aless Gorman (Bruce), and Aletha Watson (Terrance Sr.); Sons, James Terrell (Lisa) and Anthony Terrell (Tonikka); Sisters: Faye Sykes (Tommy), Cheryl Bridges, Barnetta Barlow (Jay), Patricia Brooks; Brothers, Larry Terrel and Roy Garrard; two Aunts, Ida Mae Simmons (Canton, MS) and Inez Moore (St. Louis, MO); eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Henry will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, 519 E 23rd St, Indianapolis, IN 46205, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
