

His family later moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1950. He attended Westfield #2 School and Lincoln Elementary School. He attended A. H. Parker High School, where he blew the trumpet in the marching band. He graduated in 1961.
He started a new journey moving to Indianapolis in 1962.
He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in May of 1967. After returning home, he worked at Stuart Warner and Hy Grade Meat Packing. He was later hired by Chevrolet, General Motors in 1968 and remained until retiring after 32 years as a forklift driver.
He was united in matrimony to Ada Katherine Jefferson Woods on October 21, 1972, at Second Christian Church by Dr. T. Garrott Benjamin Jr. On the next day, he was baptized in front of God and family and friends.
He was a good Christian and would attend seminars for married couples at church with his beloved wife. We love LWCC.
Howard was blessed to have and care for 3 beautiful children: a son, Samuel Brown and bonus daughter, Tracy M. Woods (who both preceded him in death) and daughter, Chrystal Lynn Anderson. He spoiled Chrystal rotten, but she turned out wonderful. She went to college and became a doctor. He was so proud of her.
Along with his parents, son and daughter, Howard is preceded in death by his granddaughter, La’Tracia M. Hatcher Miller.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, Ada Anderson; daughter, Dr. Chrystal Anderson; sisters, Hazel Jackson (Birmingham, AL) and Gwendolyn D. Anderson; brothers, Charles Anderson Jr. and Nayvonne Anderson; grandchildren: Sara Roper, Olyvia Brown, Paige Brown, Cameron K. Lee, and Jalen Brown; great- grandchildren: DaMiah and DeMari Mason, Mia’La Offett, Soleil, Brycen, and Robbie Cook and host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
