

Jack Allen Robertson Oct. 1, 1933Sept. 23, 2009 Jack Allen Robertson, 75, Marion, went peacefully home to be with the Lord and many loved ones early in the morning on Sept. 23, 2009. He was born Oct. 1, 1933 in Kokomo, and was the oldest son of Willis and Elsie Robertson. Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and was in active service until October 1955. He was a teletype operator and received the National Defense Service Medal. Jack lived in Chicago, Indianapolis and Kokomo before making the Marion VA Healthcare System his home. He loved the Lord, his family, good food and all kinds of music. Jack had an exceptional memory of the good ole days and of the friends and family of the past. He also kept up with current events, sports, local and world news. He enjoyed all of the activities on his unit at the VA. The parties were special and the Thursday night dances, especially the outings to many restaurants in the area. As a child he was a member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church, and he attended the Church of God in Christ in Marion in his later years. He loved worshiping in the VA services with many different pastors and priests. Jacks survivors include one brother, Pete Robertson and wife Sandra of East Point, Ga., three sisters, Beverly Jane Maddox and husband Joseph of Indianapolis; and Edith Ann Causey and Linda Colbert and husband Roger of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews. He also had a loving family in the staff at the Northern Indiana Healthcare Center including Kenny, his very special comrade and confidant. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Phyllis Bowling, a niece and two nephews. A grand celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. at Marion Veterans Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the chapel. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home, www.williamsandbluitt.com
