

Mr. James “Jaybird” Howard Chambers, Jr., the son of James Chamber, Sr. and Florence Chambers, was born on August 3, 1935 in Union City, Tennessee. James professed his faith in Christ and dedicated his life. He attended Pilgrim Baptist Church and was an active member. “Jaybird” attended public school and completed his education at Miles High School in Union City, Tennessee. James served in the United States Navy. He learned to be an independent, strong, and hard working young man. This molded him to
become the loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.
“Jaybird” was employed by Chrysler and he retired after 35 years of service. James was a very affectionate person. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and
old school cards; he especially enjoyed spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. Mr. James Howard Chambers, Jr., “Jaybird”, departed this life on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the age of 77 years 2 months, and 19 days.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Howard Chambers, Sr. and Florence Chambers; his loving wife of several years, Helen Chambers; and two sons, Robert Hall and James Michael Chambers.
James, “Jaybird”, leaves to cherish his memories 3 daughters, Darphine Chambers, Gail Chambers, and Bernice Peterson; 5 sons, James Chambers, III, Donald Chambers, David Chambers, Benjamin Peterson, and Ricky
Peterson; 3 sisters, Vera Burress (Bobby), Georgia Brann (James, and Velma Hardy (Willis); grandchildren; great grandchildren; long time friend, Mildred Blair; special aunt, Sarah Chamber; and a host of relatives and
many friends.
