James C. Clemmons

James attended Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly, where he was baptized in Jesus Name. He attended Indianapolis Public School #42 and Crispus Attucks High School.

He loved sports. He was a lifeguard, baseball and basketball coach. James was an electrician and skilled craftsman; he loved working with his hands.

While living in the Washington, DC area, he was employed by Marks Electrical Service and later started his own business. He lived there for 40 years before retiring and returning home to Indianapolis in 2006. James loved his family. Along with taking pictures and creating lasting moments through photography, he also enjoyed swimming, biking, golfing as well as spending time with his church family.

Mr. James Cornelius Clemmons departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of eighty-eight. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughters Julie, Christle, Keli & Monica. Grandchildren, Shawn, Timothy, Patrik, Justin, Cierra, Jason & Aiden. Seven great-grandchildren, his sister, Sally Clemmons, god-sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him

A Graveside Service will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on April 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
