James Lee Sanders

James (Jimmy) was born in Rome, Georgia to Jimmy Jones and Beatrice Fletcher on December 28,

1958. He attended IPS 23 and graduated from Crispus Attucks in 1976 where he was an All-State

wrestling champion. He graduated from ITT with a technical degree.

James worked at Union Carbone which later was named Linden, working as a grinder until he retired on

December 15, 2023 after working there for 47 years. James (Jimmy) loved to fish, barbecue with family,

and gardening. Jimmy was known to love, to laugh, and to joke.

James is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Sanders, step-father Benjamin Osborne, and brother

Nathaniel Sanders.

James is survived by his son Terrance Sanders, daughter Jamie Sanders, brother Deacon Parker

Sanders (Lorraine), nephews Parker Sanders, Jr., Demetrius Sanders, Paula Sanders, nieces: Tamara

Brown (Shawn), Natasha Sanders, and Shamaya Sanders well as bonus sisters and brothers: Carolyn

King, Marilyn Jones, Mary Brown, Deacon Mack Brown and the Brown Family, Debra Miles, Thressa King

and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for James will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
