He attended Pike High School where he formed many friendships that are still strong today. During his years in high school, he had a fierce sense of fashion which earned him the nickname “The Dude”.
Always the salesman….he started his career in the tuxedo business and ended his career at Kauffman Engineering. Another love of his was car racing which got him involved in serving on the pit crew of various Indy Car teams. Famously being the only injury of the 1989 Indy 500, this is where his pit crew career ended.
Late in 2016, he and Sally moved to Louisville to join Melissa and her family where they became well known as Yaya and Papa.
In their neighborhood of Rock Springs, he continued his meticulous attention to all things landscaping and irrigation by serving on the HOA board. He also served on the “Parshall family transportation” staff where he ensured Molly, Annie and Hudson got to all of their sports practices on time.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Molly Katherine and parents.
