Jamie G. Boyd

Mrs. Jamie Garnell Boyd the oldest of four children, was born October 4, 1945 in Ripley, MS to the union of the late Reverend Noverta Simmons and the late Dinah Lee Simmons. She departed this life on October 20, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospice. Her parents and baby brother, Billy Troy Simmons, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Boyd graduated from Ripley High School in Mississippi. At an early age, she professed a hope in Christ and joined St. John Baptist and St. James C.O.G.I.C. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Luther Boyd Jr. on February 11, 1971. To this union two children were born. Later the family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1993. She and Luther became member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 1998, where she was an active member until her illness.

She was employed at Hooverwood Nursing Home until she fell ill as an Physical Therapist Assistant.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Luther Boyd Jr.; Two children, Luther Boyd III and Evora March; Two Granddaughters, Tapreila Boyd and Maurica March; Great-grandson Tai'Zion Bennett; Sister Wilma (Alexandra) Cobbs; Brother Richard (Sharon) Simmons. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
