

Janet was born and raised in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania where she attended and graduated from the Belle Vernon school system. At the age of 20 Janet, along with her son, moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Janet made Indianapolis her home; and after working different jobs she was hired by the accounting firm of Ernst and Young, where she worked for 35 years.
Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start her own businesses; All About Us Purses and Stuff and becoming a Creative Consultant for Avon.
Her zest for life was felt by everyone she met. She enjoyed sports, going to the casinos, traveling and entertaining, but nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with family and friends.
Janet is survived by her son, Curtis Carson, two grandchildren, Curtis Carson, Jr. and Any'e Carson and great-grandson, Cortez Carson, four sisters and three brothers; Linda Carson, Chicago, Illinois; Alyce Wilcox-Aldrich (Larry), Monessen, Pennsylvania; Kathi Carson-Nix, Indianapolis, Indiana; Carolyn Carson, Indianapolis, Indiana; Jimmy Carson (Tahndrea), Chicago, Illinois; Randy Wilcox, (Debbie), Indianapolis, Indiana; Eric "Squirrel" Wilcox (Jeanette), Indianapolis, Indiana; six nephews, Stevie Carson, Keith Carson, Keyon Wilcox, Eric Wilcox-LeSure, Deon Carson and Raymond Nix; seven nieces, Denise Carson, Deana Carson, Yvette Wilcox (Cedric), Tia Harmon, Jessi Wilcox, Randi Wilcox, Shaletah Smith, Tyesha Carson, Kim Richardson, Shayla Wilcox and LaQuita Wilcox, three people that were very close to her heart, Mrs. Zerleene "Sugar" Morgan, Brandi Morgan and Kamori Morgan.
Preceding Janet in death were her grandmother, Minnie Yarborough, mother, Mackie Carson Carter, her dad, Raymond Carter, three brothers and one sister; Alan Carson Sr., Cortez "Cortie" Wilcox, Derek "Ricky" Wayne Wilcox and Celeste "Cookie" Wilcox-James.
