Janet Sue Johnson, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on April 1, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on August 27, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Zelma Gray. She graduated from Ben Davis High School. Over the years, she worked as a keypunch operator, a factory worker, and caregiver.
She was the heart of the family, always providing love and support. She will be remembered for her strength. She loved to watch soap operas everyday, listen to country music, and of course loved her Pepsi.
She is survived by children Malcom Clark (Lashawn), Stephanie Thorpe (Tim), Shellie Jones, Rebecca Clark (Chris), Miriam Eversole, Jennifer Owings (Wade Willie), and Sarah Woodruff (Anthony), 24 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Dennis Gray and sister Dixie Bonner.
Janet was preceded in death by her father John Gray, mother Zelma Gray, son Chuck Stuller, son-in-law David Jones, brothers Johnnie and Richard Gray, and former husband, Loyd Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 6-10 PM at Fitness Farm, 2525 W. 44th St. Indianapolis, Indiana.
